The State Audit is organized and managed in a centralized and unified manner, including: Executive apparatus, specialized State Audit, regional State Audit and public service units.
The specific organization, tasks and powers of the State Audit are stipulated by the State Audit Law 2015.
Currently, the organizational structure of the State Audit includes 32 Departments and Department-level equivalent units, including:

Specialized State Audit Units
1. Specialized State Audit Ia audits the defense sector;
2. Specialized State Audit Ib audits the security, finance and Party budget sectors, key operations, and State reserves;
3. Specialized State Audit II audits the central budget sector of ministries and general economic sectors;
4. Specialized State Audit III audits the central budget sector of ministries, sectors, and agencies under the Government;
5. Specialized State Audit IV audits the investment sector and infrastructure projects;
6. Specialized State Audit V audits the investment sector and industrial and civil projects;
7. Specialized State Audit VI audits State-owned corporations and groups;
8. Specialized State Audit VII audits banks and financial institutions.

1. State Audit Region I, headquartered in Hanoi City;
2. State Audit Region II, headquartered in Vinh City, Nghe An Province;
3. State Audit Region III, headquartered in Da Nang City;
4. State Audit Region IV, headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City;
5. State Audit Region V, headquartered in Can Tho City;
6. State Audit Region VI, headquartered in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province;
7. State Audit Region VII, headquartered in Yen Bai City, Yen Bai Province;
8. State Audit Region VIII, headquartered in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province;
9. State Audit Region IX, headquartered in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province;
10. State Audit Office of Region X, headquartered in Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province;
11. State Audit Office of Region XI, headquartered in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province;
12. State Audit Office of Region XII, headquartered in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province;
13. State Audit Office of Region XIII, headquartered in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.
Public service units

The State Audit Office has its own seal. State Audit Offices of Regions and public service units have legal status, their own seals, accounts and headquarters.
Specialized State Audit Offices conduct specialized audits of agencies and organizations at the Central level.
Regional State Audit conducts audits of local agencies and organizations in the region and other audit tasks assigned by the State Auditor General.
